Background: This thread is designed to allow new members to get a good sampler of cigars from an experienced smoker. It also has the underlying intent of fostering the brotherhood whereas an experienced smoker provides mentorship and advice about which cigars are in (their) opinion the best out there. Listed below are “Some” specifics that will help us to get started. I am interested in feedback, especially if there is something that I did not clearly articulate.

Explanation: What is the Newbie Sampler?

A specific thread where a Newbie (or anybody) can trade for a variety of Cigars. The experienced guy would help the Newbie decide which cigars best fits his tastes based upon the feedback from the Newbie and would tell the Newbie what he would want in return for the sampler. The Newbie would get the “experienced” guy what he wanted and the "experienced" guy would send the Newbie a nice package of assorted cigars. This includes having the Newbie purchase cigars for or from you.

Benefits: Why would I want to trade with these people?

1. First and foremost, time and money will be saved by the new person.

2. The new person will receive a large variety of smokes. All of which have been well maintained and are not dog rockets. This will save the Newbie time and money in the long run.

3. Mentoring from an experienced cigar smoker.

Note: There are many more reasons but I wanted to keep this kind of brief.

Mechanics: How is the trade going to work?

There will be a list of experienced smokers that I will maintain on the Newbie sampler thread. A new person would post that they are interested in getting a sampler along with their email address. The experienced trader would post on the thread email sent and reply to the Newbie. The deal would then be handled between the two people and the experienced trader would update the thread by posting Newbie trade completed with (insert tag here). This will allow everyone to see the progress of the Newbie thread.

If for some reason that trader is unable to accommodate the Newbie then the trader will post that he cannot meet the requirements and the next experienced trader in line would try to help the Newbie until the needs of the Newbie are met. Let's keep the status posted as well.

Summary: If the trade does not work out where both people are totally satisfied then either or both parties can contact me and I will do my best to make it right.

Figured I'd throw the brandy in there since we consume more brandy here in WI than anywhere else in the WORLD.

Brandy manhattans, Brandy Old Fashions, Darn near anything with brandy here 🙂

Kdotline -

I must say I came home today giddy like a schoolgirl getting ready for the prom. When I looked at my doorstep nothing was there. Since it was a friday I was crushed that the lazy mailman hadn't delivered my package yet from you. So figured I would go inside the house and just pull some yardgar out of the humidor and smoke it on the front stoop.(wife still doesn't allow it in the house)

I go inside the house and BOOM! big explosion there was Cigar schrapnel everywhere. My brother-in-law had been over and threw the box onto the kitchen counter, which will now need to be replaced and seems to be the point of detination.

No really, it is a beautiful assortment of Cigars, and I am sure I will spend plenty of nights enjoying each and everyone (Think it was 30 total, if you count the yardgars). I appreciate everything you have done for this newbie, and hope we can meet up soon.

Thanks

Brett

Hi everyone, a friend of mine introduced me to this site about a few months ago and I have been reading different posts to try and catch up on all the cigar talk that goes on here. I am fairly new to cigar smoking, and I didn't want to post here on the forums until I had a decent supply of cigars in my very tiny Humidor. So I guess I am ready to start being seen on these boards. So, here I am asking to be part of this noob trade thread, and hoping you all will include me as you help me to become a true BOTL
