Run-DMC is not/was not considered "gangsta rap". They actually were rappers in the true meaning. Now maybe if I believed all of the "media drivel" that I read and heard on the radio and didn't know any better, then I would probably think that all "rappers" were of the "gangsta" style. BTW, they were the original hip-hoppers. RIP
