If it's true that most cigars improve with age...put them to bed and buy more. My goal is to acquire two cigars for every one I smoke until I have about a five year supply. I'm about half way there.

Cruiser ... I agree ... if I had 200 or 300, I'd be in trouble alright ... at least, it would SEEM like trouble to me if I got that low ...

The main problem with having 200 to 300 cigars coming to you is that you will need a bigger coolerador. I got 2-100qt.'dors now and looking for another (and possibly a new wife, hhmmmm might not be a bad idea)if I order anymore....69

Like Sammydaddy said earlier today ... this board is like therapy ... we all get to realize that we're not the only ones whose cigar related habits are obsessive/compulsive ... that red "Forum" tab at the top of the page might well say "Group Therapy"

I can relate: I just bought a 300 capacity humidor because I was running out of room in my other two. It always seemed that the cigar I wanted was on the bottom of the stack in the lower portion of the humidor. Acquisitiveness is definitely part of the fun and neurosis of cigar smoking. I concur, too, about the joy of giving cigars away. Problem is, most of my friends don't smoke enough for me to clear much space, and working as I do at a seminary, I don't exactly have a host of co-workers who enjoy the habit. Oh well, I shall have to redouble my efforts to convert them!

The solution is so obvious, I'm amazed you guys can't see it ...

You don't need fewer cigars, you need more humidor capacity !!

dweiss - SPELL CHECK, please!! Nothing against you, but it's killing me!!

More humidor space is definitely part of the solution. But we must keep in mind that rather obscure law of thermodynamics that posits that cigar acquisition will always commence in equal or greater proportion to increases in available space.

or, more simply, as the disembodied voice said to Ray Kinsella in "Field of Dreams" ...
