Any one know whatever happened to the Juan Clemente brand? Haven't seen them anywhere for the past couple of years. I first had one of these about 12 years ago--in fact, this was my first full box of cigars. Back then it had a rich, peppery taste that was pure joy to smoke. I've never seen it quite duplicated anywhere else. This was one of the first brands I'm aware of that placed the ring on the foot end of the cigar rather than the cap end. During the cigar boon, the blend changed a bit--still really good, but that peppery taste just wasn't the same. Then, all of a sudden, the brand seem to simply disappear. I will always remember the unique flavor of those older JCs. I'm just wondering what happened. Perhaps they were just a casualty of the end of the cigar boom.

You can still get the very small gauge sizes at "blowout" prices.

The Juan Clemente brand, once made in the same factory as Davidoff and Cerdan, is no longer in production. If you search hard enough, you may still find them at dogrocket prices. I liked the Juan Clemente's too.

I have one sittin in my coolerdor that is about 12 inches. Never tried it and figure it would take a day to smoke it so I shy away.

I think I'll hunt around for some just for old times sake--especially if they are available at blowout prices. The Juan Clemente was known to age quite well, turning its already rich taste into quite a full-bodied cigar. This may be a nice find at a bargain price.
