These fine Women Marines are two of our regular targets at OpFTH - they're USMC corpsman in Afghanistan - and any Marine will tell you that a corpsman is better than a doctor when you really need them. Favorite cigars include Maker's Choice Vanilla, and other flavored and non-flavored medium bodied cigars. They also appreciate coffee, snacks and other goodies. PM me if you'd like to send something special for this unit! -B

Elementary school I would guess.

At least, that would be a true statement when I was deployed...

Just to be clear here, the young lady on the left with the alphabet soup last name is Navy. The Marine Corps does not have its own medical branch. They are augmented by the Navy.

That's what I always thought too, but she said she is both a corpsman and a US Marine. And in another photo that she sent me, the tape opposite her name says US Marine Corps. All the Navy Corpsman that I worked with had USN on their tape. Regardless, she's out there taking care of Marines and serving our country and deserves our support. -B

I was *this* close to explaining all that, and then decided it for 85% of the population it's a detail that doesn't really matter. Besides, I had a joke lined up. 🇨🇮

I can tell you for sure that she is an HM2 (SW) USN. Marine Corps correctly identified earlier does not, and never has had a dedicated corpsmen field. As the fleet marine Corpsman possess special credentials and are often deployed in country with the Marine units they are required (and proudly) wear Marine identification.

Correction, she is an HM3 (SW) my old friggin eyes playing tricks on me again. 🌫

I'm glad we got that settled. And thanks, Chief, for your PM and incoming donation! You and others of us know what it's like to get (or not get) a care package!

I just got an email from Shannon Caltagirone: "Thank-you so much for yet another fabulous care package! You are amazing and I cannot thank-you enough. ~ Shannon" She also sent another photo, which I'll post. -B
