Well for the time being ive outgrown my small desktop and not big enough for the fridgeador... Plus it's Christmas time and it looks nice!

Seasoning question: on the info it came with it said not to put the hygrometer by the humidifier... The pic puts it right in between?

Any thoughts?

I could see where you would get a false reading I would use a gel jar in the bottom or beads.....

Throw the hygrometer in the trash and get some beads.

52qt cooler and 1.5 pounds of bead in a stocking.

I have a dish of distilled water in there right now. Would I need the high humidity beads or go straight for the reg.?

The only thing I don't love about the beads is having them in the bottom taking up space.
In the 50ct I have now I have the dish with the gel. It takes up room, and I'd like to do something on the lid if I could...

You can pull apart the rectangular humidity devices and fill them with beads inside of a footsie or cut down a thigh-high stocking.

Or put em in empty cigar coffins and drill the lid.

I season mine with "slap yo mama"

Hope you enjoy it.

I have always seasoned new humis by wiping them down with distilled water and a hand towel. Removes all the cedar dust as well. Shut the lid and wait a few hours and see if it has fully absorbed the water. If so, repeat, but with less water. Throw an accurate hygrometer in there. See where it's at. If not too moist put your cigars in, however, you need to fill it with cigars so that any excess humidity is minimal when compared with the number of cigars you put in. Check it inn a day or two, then add your humidification device/system.

I have been using the 67% RH water pillows for years and they work great. Put them wherever you need to. They don't take up nearly the space of a jar of gel or beads.

Whichever method you decide to use, good luck!
