I've got enough spare cash for one or the other... The weekend spotlight is a 20 pack of Obsidian Mini-corona's and 5 pack of some other obsidians for $50... I've had the Mini Coronas and I think they're great for a short smoke...

Weekly deal is a 20 box of Padilla Series 68 for $40... Heard good things about these, but never had one... Only enjoyed one Padilla in my life and it wasn't the 68... Any good?

Any suggestions? What would you do? Save your money and get something good on Cigarbid instead?

Between those 2 choices, I'd be gettin the '68's. IMHO, most any of the "mini's" fall short in the flavor department and tend to burn hot unless you really smoke them slow. The '68 is a good stick.

Thanks for the thought... I don't care for short smokes too much, but I've had the Obsidians many times... Have a half dozen in the humi right now...

I am a slow smoker by nature, so maybe that helps, but never had a problem with the Obsidians - either with a hot burn or flavor profile...

That being said, I would agree with you about every other short smoke I've had... The Obsidian was just an exception for me...

But I think I might give those Padilla's a shot...

What exactly is the deal with the "Refill Only" boxes?

Have no clue on the "refill only" thing. I don't buy smokes here.........well, let's just say it's been a couple of years since I've bought anything here. What I smoke, they don't have here.

Lucky man... I don't think I've ever smoked what they "don't have here"... Someday, for sure... but for now, cheap has to be my motto...

This is just a guess, but the '68 box is a very nice, finished, hinged box. These boxes are cheapie slide tops. Could be that these are actually shipped at a reduced cost to retailers for them to refill the pretty boxes in their displays, or it could be just another marketing gimmick. Something halfway between the nice box and a bundle. I guess you'd have to be a Padilla retailer to know for sure.
