Have you notice that the prices( bid) are much higher lately. The economy must be getting better!

Seems to be normal for when the weather starts warming up. Stuff I could grab all winter long for $1 or $2 are now going for $3 to $5. Usually calms back down next fall. The reason I buy most of my sticks in the winter.

Here's an example. Picked this up for $25 serveral times during the winter.

Wise advice, dpnewell. After paying too much for some sticksrecently, I'm going to be a little more disciplined and check my winning bid histories before jumping on stuff. I've got enough to keep me smoking until prices get back to "normal."

BTW, my best buy this year was the box of Black Pearl Morados, thanks to your tip. Had the first one yesterday, OTT, and it was an excellent smoke, price notwithstanding.

Yeah,it's been kinda crazy lately.I won the VSG sampler for 37,yesterday 2 went for 55 and 58 apiece.Think I'll sit back and enjoy a nice cigar and wait for things to slow down.

imo- several factors play into final bid fluctuations

1) simple randomness - sometimes "everyone" has enough, or, needs more cigars, in roughly the same time period

2) financial windfalls - people getting their tax refunds

3) the old "tuesday/wednesday" phenomena.......... you know, "oh crap, I only won one fiver - I need to boost this shipment with something to lower my per stick cost"

4) herd mentality

I'm sure over time things will generally be more expensive - just the way it is

But I did just get a box (20) of LHC Oscuro Fuerte Toros for $31, which isn't too bad at all - there's still deals here
