I once bought a Gurkha Grand Reserve cigar that was in this plastic tube sealed with wax. It was a cigar that was infused with Cognac and it wasn't to bad that taste was good the draw sucked (Cigar shop owner suggested it). I smoked this as soon as I bought it so I didn't have to store it. I just bought 3 more cigars of the same type but these supposedly have bourbon in them. Oliveros Gold Bourbon Toro. They are each stored in it's own Tube with the end sealed. How should I store these cigars? Do I unseal them before I throw them into a humidor? Should I smoke them right away and not worry about storing them? Any tips are appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldn't store them with other cigars if you take them out of their tubes. Then again if I wanted to mix booze and cigars; I would drink the booze and smoke the cigars. JMO

In all seriousness, normally I would open tubed cigars and put them in a humi as they will dry out if left outside of a humidor, or not get enough airflow if left in. However, you don't want to store flavored cigars with non-flavored cigars, so I would just leave these in the tube and smoke whenever you can, or get a separate cheapo humi to put flavored sticks in (candy box).

1) Do NOT remove the Oliveros from their tubes. The manufacturer dips a small sponge in Bourbon, and places it in the tube at the foot of the cigar. That is how they "infuse" it. If you take it out of the tube, you stop the infusion process, and believe me, those Oliveros are so light in flavor, that they need as much infusion time as possible.

2) The tubes are sealed, so you don't have to store them in your humidor.

3) It is best to dry box the Gurkha for a few days, so the stick drys out a little.

4) Do NOT expect the Oliveros to taste anything like the Gurkha.

5) If you like the Oliveros, you can usually pick them up here for $1 a stick. Last year I won 3 of each (Rum, Bourbon, Cognac) for a total of $9. Personally, I feel I overpaid!

For the most part I prefer to keep my liquor and cigars separate. Flavored cigars are to me the same as aromatic pipe tobacco. They smell great, but burn hot and taste bitter. Hate to admit it, but the only "infused" cigars I tried and "kind of" liked were the Acid blue label. Still have a couple around in a separate humi and haven't smoked one for at least a year or more.
