Just a little trade we set up for him to try some super duper refined torch fuel.

Some Memphis BBQ sauce's.....Rendevous regular and a HOT.Heard good things about this sauce but never tried.

Some mint gum..........Bastid thinks my breath stinks.

And a quart jar of what I do believe to be some of Tennesee's finest still squeezings.

Very cool brother..........Yours flys as soon as I return home.

Glad it arrived safe,

Hospital has wi-fi, yeehaa

everyone who gets to Memphis MUST go to that place and try the ribs!

No rush, doesn't look like I will be using that nice lighter for awhile as is.

Thanks, Bruce,

Long time , no hear, been busy I'm sure, if you get bored, give me a ring, I just sit around looking like this mostly, if not at some Drs., hospital.

Myelogram today so Vandy Spine can decide best route to repair the loose screws and instability.........trying to find out exactly where it's pinched, cervical and lumbar.

Haven't heard of that one, they have popped up all over. Most not so good.

Charlie Verga's Rendezvous is downtown, enter through an alley, go down into the basement, best ribs ever. It's 2 blocks north from Beale St. as well, a twofer. Interstate BBQ is an old style, pretty good, Corky's is the commercialized "wet" version and they're pretty tasty as well. I live an hour and a half east, my wife and I will go just for the ribs sometimes.

There is an excellent pulled pork cooker nearby, won the World Championship. The Mid South/West Tn. area has some of the best BBQ anywhere.

If you ever come that direction, give me a heads up, maybe we can meet up, I can for sure tell you the best places if not. I lived there a few years, youngest daughter just finished Bachelor's at U of M, she lived there for 3 yrs. I know Memphis well.

Does this mean you're feeling good enough to send you a little box opener you've had your eye on and maybe a few stragglers?

Give me a couple weeks , brother, gonna have to strengthen up after the myelogram, gotta lot of catching up and family stuff to attend, wife and son took the vehicles today, so I couldn't drive.

That'll give her time to get another check, hehe. Then I can put you a pkg together.

Claiming that Rendezvous has the best ribs anywhere is a mighty bold statement. Best ribs in TN well that sounds much more credible. But having not sampled the fare I will wait until the next opportunity arises.

Only been to the Interstate in the airport so I'll reserve judgment here.

Yeah Corky's is kinda like the fast food version of BBQ if you ask me. Sacue is good but they us it too liberally which tends to mean the quality of the meat is sub par.

Don't make it to Memphis often but if I do will definitely let you know in advance. Thanks for the info!

I think every president since Carter has their pic in the place. They make an excuse to go to Memphis, and they take ribs out to Air Force One.
