Picked up 3 LFD "Hammer's" today. A Local exclusive that I've never had before. Tried to get some LFD Axe's too but they were out. Anyone ever have a Hammer before? And would anyone who had a box coming from me soon like one?

split up a box a year or so back, special deal from another vendor, supposedly a size of the Coronado only available from them, so impossible to compare pricing. I think they were like $3 ea incl shipping. Turned out to be a decent deal. They were good, actually picked up some oomph after about 6 months.

Yeah I'm quickly becoming a LFD whore, still a Tatuaje whore front and center but if I can't have one of those it's an LFD I'm looking to light up although I do not like the chisel tips...

CB - smoke one and post your thoughts.

If I remember correctly, you prefer to use a punch cutter? The way I handle the chisel tip is to punch on both flat sides of the chisel. But I agree, I am not a huge fan of chisel tips.

Yeah I prefer a punch. I'll have to try that on the last chisel tip I have in my box. Thanks for the tip!

Try punching just the side pointing towards your palate. Moisten it first so you don't crack it. I have trouble getting a good draw this way so I end up straight cutting the chisels but I always start this way!

^btw I'll try punching both sides of the chisel next time to see if the draw is good that way.

I found that a V cut was the best for me to smoke the chisel tips

I was just straight guillotine cutting them and I guess I should just do that again one the last one I have and just avoid the hassle. Still a good smoke just don't like that tip.

GI - I would start with the Red Label - Havana VI line. I prefer the Angeles (petite Corona) and Victorias (Corona Especial)

and the Brown Label - Miami line. I prefer the Noellas (5 1/8x42)

There are also a number of Brown Label Reserva cigars that are excellent, but the price point tends to go up ....

Pete puts out a mind-boggling line of smokes under the Tat brand, as well as other brand names (Cabaiguan, LaRiqueza, El Triumfador .....)

hope this helps

try pinching the corners of the flat part of the chisel. It's designed to pop open with a squeeze. Guy in the shop did the punch trick on my first one ever but I didn't care for it after th ecoolness factor wore off.

This is the intended way for these to be enjoyed, still I don't care for the Chisel.
