Had a Cuba Libre One last night. Good flavor throughout the stick. Still figuring out what I like any similar suggestion to the Cuba Libre One?

Good value cigar even better with some age to even it out grab a box sit on it for six months to a year sweet smoke. now that is a Habano ligero first is cain Habano on of my favorites got them in toro and nub sizes both great. may want to try the 5 vegas Miami for value and similar spiciness

My advice: Don't mistake the Cuba Libre for the Cuba Libre One... I like the One and would pay $1 for it... the other, not worth a penny...

Thanks I've been watching the Nubs and wondering are they full of flavor right from the start?

I agree I've had the Cuba Libre and the Cuba Libre one and prefer the One

Nice to have another cheap arse on the boards who likes the same smokes I do, and I second the Cuba Libre not being worth a penny.

I personally feel the Nubs are a gimmick smoke. Not a bad smoke, just a gimmick. Don't care for any of those short fat smokes.

Try the La Herencia Cubana Oscuro Fuerte and the Perdomo Limited Reserve Oscuro. Both are priced similar to the Cuba Libre One, both have strong peppery dominant flavors with sweet finishes, and dark tobacco flavors with some punch, like the One.

Serviceable stick.

The old version libre sucks.

I agree that the One is a great value smoke. I'm not thrilled about the short, fat nub-type one that comes up here frequently, but the toros are super, especially at sub $2 cbid price.

However, I'm going to be the dissenting voice on the OR. Completely different, but showcases a corojo flavor that suits me very well at a great price. I don't do flavor description well, but there's a certain combination of corojo flavor components that I really enjoy. Cuba Libre is one that has it - others are Perdomo Patriarch corojo, G.A.R., Camacho 10th anni, CI Anni, 5V CS II, and (gasp), Gurkha Micro Batch Liga TPB-1 (where'd these go, anyway?).

Looking back at my list, I see that rock bottom cbid prices and discontinuations means that I'm in the minority on this profile...but, I guess that's good for me 🙂

RP Edge corojo brackets this group outside the spicier end -- Gran Habano #5 would be outside the span at the other end - sort of fruitier.

Anyway, I like 'em both - for different reasons...and for the same reason - Not a lot of good $2 cigars out there - these are those.

If you like the One, search for Hoyodude's posts on this stick and check out the other sticks he has reviewed and liked. He is a huge fan of these and has a great palate. As I recall, he is also a value smoker. He was even quoted by CI in their catalogue regarding the One.

based on a fiver of each...

cuba libre - meh...

cuba libre one - decent budget stick, but at that price, 10+ sticks I'd rather buy...

had construction (wrapper) problems with a few from each fiver...

guess I'm not a fan...

This discussion got me to dig a bit in my humi and I have five Cuba Libra One sitting there they have been in there year and a half two years. So I torched a torp and yep good smoke still had a little pepper kick start but didn't last but a few puffs and the rest was very enjoyable

I have been really liking the Cuba Libre One smokes. For a couple bucks a piece, they make a great cigar. I have only done a few trades, but always make sure to throw one in. I just got a box of the Toro size as the Brute has been the only one I have been smoking so far. They need to sit for another week or so before I try one of those, the reviews seem to lean more to the Brute size as the best though.
