Does anyone think the volcano near the Esteli valley today in nicaragua will affect the tobacco fields?[-(

I'm really hoping all the ash, lack of sun, and rain doesn't ruin the tobacco crops.

The volcano that erupted is San Cristobal, which is near the coast about 75 miles from Esteli. I'd be more worried about the people it displaced than the tobacco that isn't even in the ground right now.

Ground should be clear right now. Seedlings will go from the greenhouses to the fields in November IIRC.

3-mile-high ash cloud. Not a full vomit, just a juicy belch (that's technical jargon). It could mean there is more to come, it could mean the volcano is good now for 20 years.

PS--Can't wait for the new San Cristobal "Eruption" line at IPCPR 2013.
