Does it matter wether you put a box in a humidor or take the sticks out of the box in a humidor for aging a cigar faster? I have a few sticks of the no. 9, but don't know if leaving it in a box is better or out.

thanks

for the liga privada no. 9, how long do you age them before you smoke them?

how about the liga privada T52's?

so whether it is in the box or outside, they'll age at the same rate?

Not necessarily so, some hit there peak after a couple years, others 5,6 or more before they are prime.

LP's I really don't know. I have a box of 9 Robbies resting now for a couple years just to see what happens. The other box I bought at the same time have been just as good since day one as they are now.

i had one tonight and it wasn't as smooth or as sweet as ones i traded for. so the only thing i could attribute that different taste was the young age of the cigar.

i guess i'll have to let the couple others i have sit in the humi for a couple of months....depressing.

Regular nines are aged for one year up front and should be good ROTT. Not saying they won't get better with age. Not sure about the 52s.

It is my opinion that LP's do not age well. This may piss a couple Liga whoresoff. I have had a bunch of fresh ones of all the liga lines. I have aged for 1-2 years some 9's, 52's, rats, and 52 pigs. None have been as good as the "fresh" ones. I don't know how much age they come with but I know they don't stay at the local more than a week.

I say burn them bad boys and buy some more.

Patience grasshopper, have a little patience. No need to fire up everything as soon as you get it. One of the best things I like about this hobby is opening up a box that you have been aging and torching that cigar after so long and it being exactly what you were hoping for. Sometimes it doesn't happen but if you buy some good smokes to start with odds are you won't be disappointed.

Most of the people that have been in this hobby for a long time can tell you it can be hard at first to buy something and put it away for 6 months, a year, 2 years many times much more. If you truly want to enjoy all your cigars have to offer then you just have to get over the fact you won't be smoking every new cigar out there right away. How do you think guys have all these older release cigars ? They are able to put them away and forget about them. When it comes to CC's it's almost a forgone fact you won't be enjoying them anytime soon.

The way I look at it is it's an investment in your future pleasures.

Don't put much inventory into aging a lot of NC's but there are a few high-ends, ie, Fuente, Padron, Tat, etc. Dub and nnightmar hit it with the CC's in general. For what I consider a "fresh-roll" try some Johnny O's. Good ROTT, but much better after a year or so. They're a good inexpensive smoke that will give you some experience with "aging".

Thank u all for ur advice. I learn something everyday.

Patience. Now I understand why people have cabinets or coolidors full of cigars.

I just found out the no. 9's I bought the first time were in his humi for a year. The new ones were picked up at a b and m store.

In the box, in a tupperdor/coolerdor.
