Anyone have any experience with this cigar? I can't get the thing to stay lit. Or it tunnels. It produces smoke, but I can't draw any into my mouth. It's big, 6x60. Maybe it's too big.

I've kept it in my wineadoor at around 68-degrees and 68% RH. Other cigars in the same cooler do much better. I know it's a cheap smoke. But I'm still in the process of sampling a variety of relatively cheap daily smokes and wanted to try this one out.

I'm wondering if there are better Pinar Del Rios besides the exclusivo.

That's an exclusive stick that Abe blended just for CI. Suppose to be an 8 tobacco blend. I've had them in Rob, Toro and Torpedo, and they have all been fine smokes, with the Rob being my favorite. Never had the 60 x 6. I've never cared for the monster ringe gauges. From your description, probably way too wet. CI usually ships stuff wet, and the big ring gauges take a long time to dry out. May want to dry box one for a few days up to a week. Most PDRs are best smoked on the dry side. You'll find that many of us keep our boxes in the low to mid 60s, as most cigars perform better at lower humidity. I personally keep mine as close to 60 as possible.

If you like Abe's stuff, try the Obsidian (another CI exclusive), and the 1878 Capa Mauduro and Capa Oscuro (not available here).

Thanks for the info. I bet the ring gauge was a big factor. BTW, it was the Reserva Limitado Exclusivo. A cheap stick. I figured it might be wet, but other smokes in the same humi did better. Granted, they were smaller ring gauge.

I'll just keep experimenting with various smokes, but will leave this one to rest for a while since there are so many other brands to try, including the Obsidian.

Yes, that's the one I thought you meant. Dark stick with a black, silver and gold band and no foot ribbon. I only buy them when they can be won for a buck. Fine smoke for a buck.

BTW, the best Obsidian is the PC. Another stick that can be had here at times for a buck.

The obsidian is good... in the mini corona especially... I actually just discovered the PDR Reserva Limitado Exclusivo a couple of weeks ago when I won a few for a buck... as dp said, fine smoke for a buck... quite fine...

Haven't tried the 60 rg but any other PDR I've had were great! May need to dry box them for a few days before smoking them.
