Smoked a Camacho SLR Maduro, lil perfecto, this morning with coffee and a little Nestles Cocoa mixed in. About half inch in, on a retrohale, I noticed a strong flavor of old wet leather and immediately flashed back to when I was 9 years old. I was playing over the line, and using an old Ted Williams model glove. The grass was wet that day and the glove got soaked. I remember holding it in front of my face to block the sun, and really enjoyed the smell of the wet musty leather...kept the glove up to my face whenever I was in the field.
This is the second cigar I've smoked that has evoked a long forgotten moment in such bright detail. The first was an Ave Maria. The first few puffs had a sweet sensuous muskiness that reminded me of a special occasion with my second girlfriend. No other woman that I've known has that fragrance. Alas, I've smoked about 7-8 Ave Marias and no other produced that aroma.
