I have a new 250 count box that I have seasoned and today I noticed a spot of what I would call white icicles in one of the grooved led vents. It wiped right off. I can see what I would call light spots in the lid groves also. Is that mold?

I a not familiar with what is considered mold since I have started with my cigar obsession in the last year.

Thanks for any reply.

And did it happen right after seasoning? How long did you season?

If I were you I'd hit it with rubbing alcohol real good. Let it air dry for a day or 2. Then take some sand paper to it. Don't go crazy just take a layer off where the spires or whatever would be. Then re season it for 2 weeks.

Thought I read that somewhere. If its a stupid idea someone will be along shortly to let me know.

Good advise. Better safe than sorry.

Also since you had such a small problem. Maybe you could get away with the alcohol treatment and no sand paper?
