Did you get one?

If No, other than cost, what is your reasoning behind your decision?

I don't have an agenda on this; I haven't had one and don't currently plan to myself. The way the media is pushing it, I should probably be put on trial for my wonton disregard for the impending doom.

Yep, every year but I'm in health care and ethically don't want to expose anyone, but would get one anyways, remember well the last time I had the flu and see people regularly who are miserable and out of work for a week, it's rather idiotic that they're pushing the vaccine now when people should have gotten it last year if they wanted one, the flu kills every year primarily really young and really old

No, because by the time everyone starts talking about it, I usually already have the flu. The last few years I had it in November (last year went to pneumonia). This year I got the flu right around New Years, but am pretty much over it.

I should probably make a note to get the shot early next year, and see if it really works. I'm hearing numbers like 63% effective. That means that 37 out of 100 folks who get the shot still get the flu.

Last year a good friend lost all feeling in his arms, hands, legs and feet. Couldn't walk for months. Most of the feeling has come back, but he's still not 100%. I can't remember the name of the condition, but it was traced back to his flu shot.

So, I guess there's pros and cons.

Took it early and do so every year. I work with fomites.

I didn't get it because I didn't think about it until after my wife ready had the flu.

Got one this year for the first time. My doctor highly recommended it and made it a part of my annual physical.
I have asthma and have had two bouts of sinus infections this year - just thought it was a good idea this year. I still got the flu, but only after my daughter came down with it and shared it with the family. It did only last for a few days compared to how bad off she was.

My daughter made me get one and actually gave it to me.

No, never have. My Dr. tells me every year I should get one now that I'm a senior citizen ( he also tells me I should not smoke cigars).

Got my flue and pneumonia injections in late August/early October- when they firs became available. BCBS paid me $25 for getting each!

I think everyone should double and triple up on flu vaccines just to be sure... and the younger the better. 👍

Haven't gotten one............yet. Historically I haven't gotten one in over 15 years. That said, with my wife an rn in a huge hospital that has 15 operating rooms, she has urged me to get one. The CDC says that they have hit the nail on the head this year with the vacine and that with the epidemic in the east, by the time it gets to California, I probably wont' be able to find a flu shot.

Will probably go down in the next day or two to get one.

One of the things that I personally wasn't aware of (in past years) is that all the eggheads that are involved in flu vaccines put the data together and try and figure out what the flu virus make-up might be for the upcoming year. They can't make a cure-all but try to address the real nasty stuff that will kill an old person and/or really screw up an infant.....that sort of thing. They take their best SWAG and go with it. Sometimes the virus' we get are a little different than what the vaccine was targeted for and so we still get sick. We look at it as "sick is sick" and the shots are a waste of time.

No I do not get flu shots.

Are the perservatives in the vaccine still the issue? Or is it the vaccine itself? Or... all vaccines?

Can you even get kids in school in the Peoples Reppublic of Mary-land w/o the full regimen of shots most laws require?

I am 71 years young..I have been gettin the Flu shot for the last 10yrs along with an Irish Whiskey in both paws..Gotta make sure it is really a dead virus in dat dam needle.. 😣

I never get the shot, haven't had one since the late 80's when I was in the military. I am kinda a germaphobe, (is that even a word?) anyway I wash my hands often, don't touch door handles with a bare hand, that kind of freakish stuff. Crowded places suck and I avoid them like the plague. I cannot remember the last time I had the flu so it works for me.

The actual shot is another story, I don't want that crap injected in me.
