Hello everyone- I just recently purchased the "cigar mini tower " and also purchased the hydra LG to go along with it. I've heard of people taking out the moisture foam and replacing it with something else like heartfelt beads. Is this possible and if so, what's the process in doing so

Thanks!

I could be wrong but I think they mean replace ANY Humi device with beads.

I personally would go ahead and use the green foam for about a year if it's new. Nothing wrong with it. After that, replace it with beads rather than buying a new cartridge. You will need to put the beads in some panty hose material or fine mesh neting to keep the beads from getting sucked up by the fan when the top ones dry out.

Just use only distilled water with the beads and you are good to go. 65% is your friend.

my foam started getting funky after about 8 months, I have the oasis xlplus, and just dug the foam out, and put in dist. water, just have to be a little more careful so you don't knock it over, and spill it, I just use it in my larger coolidor to supplement the beads, and keep the humidity a little higher in that one for my raw tobacco experiments.

Awesome! Thanks everyone for the feedback. I hear so many mixed reviews on the Hydra LG so hopefully I am not on the short end of the stick on this one..

I have the same humidifier, been going strong for almost 3 years. I put KL in it works great.

What does 'KL' mean, and should I put it in right away? Or after so many months...

Thanks!

Lol. I have one more question. I purchased an additional fan to help circulate air flow from bottom to top. If I leave the hydra at the bottom should I put the 2nd fan at the very top facing down or put the fan in the middle facing upward I bought the cigar mini tower which is 3 ft tall. Thanks!
