is for trade locally. As I understand it, these are good quality humidors. My questions to those with experience in the matter are;

For ~$200 is there any reason to pass this up or is that a steal anyway you look at it?

What are some tell tale signs of being fake/authentic?

Other that the obvious (good whooshing seal/no cracks/structurally sound) is there anything else I should look for when purchasing a used humidor?

I don't have much information on it as I have only seen a picture of it closed. It's listed as a Dunhill Mahogany Humidor. The one picture of it is very attractive. equipped w/lock & key.

Thanks,

-Zach

EDIT: this one appears to be older in nature. Not as modern as some that I have see so far.

$200 would easily set-up a cooler including some inventory.

Im guessing its a desktop or smaller trunk. For $200 bucks you can get something new that's probably twice as big or bigger. That's my .02. I'd get the most bang for my buck...unless you're looking for something with age.

All other things being equal, I wouldn't pay $.01 more for a Dunhill humdor over any other brand.

Listen your/our lawyer. He's spot on. The 50 count I saw was not constructed any better than the 250 count on my desk. Yet, my wide paid $91 for it brand new.

YMMV

I've seen the old ones go for 40 bucks on fleabay if you are patient!...................yes Dunhill, there was a small stain from a sponge, Mahogany, sounds like the kind you are speaking of, may not even be that large,

like Cac said for less than 80 bucks you can get a 150 qt coleman marine cooler on wal-mart site to store

Thickness of the walls and lid the thicker the better none glass top more preferable all of this to keep temp and humidity a better stable environment I like the Savoy Humidors well constructed and you can get them for a song on flea bay got a solid mahogany 200 count for 36.00 used but as most BOTL they take very good car of their humidors so a good used one is always a good bargain

Handsaws and chisels..like the men of old. It would only take a year!

I thought about buying a larger humidor myself. I have so much dang hardwood I figured I just build one.. I'll probably be saying this for a year or two..

I'd pass & get two coolers and your set...

This humidor you speak of is most likely overpriced & is only selling for so much because of the name...

I'm not a big fan of buying used humidors... you don't know what the guy who owned it before you kept in there... you don't know if it has molded and then been cleaned up... you don't know if only distilled water was in used in it... there's just a ton of stupid things stupid people could have done to a used humidor before it was cleaned up and sold... just my paranoid opinion...
