I'm not sure the best way to go about this, but....

After reading some of the comments about recent events (please don't bring them up or even mention them in this thread....thanks), I saw a lot of posts about trader rating, bad trader lists, and stuff like that.

While I think this is a good idea, I also wouldn't want to openly bad mouth ANYONE.



So, I started thinkin in the opposite direction. What if we had a GOOD trader list. Somebody (one of the FOG's who already have a good list of people started) could start a thread. On the first post, they list folks that have been validated with a baseline score of, say, 25. Arbitrary score, could be more, could be less.

All noobs have to earn their initial score (which is why I wouldn't begin to try and start this thread....also because I don't know who is good and who isn't). People could post a simple reply in the thread with the name of who they traded with, and how it went. Each good trade = +1 rating. Each bad trade = -1 rating. Next to the actual rating, possibly in red, there could be a second number that states how many negative ratings they have received.

The FOG would have to keep up with the thread and maintain that first post as a sort of database, so somebody would have to volunteer to keep track of the thread. I have seen similar systems in place on other forums and they worked well.


This is my first attempt at setting up a poll, so I'm not sure if it worked or not. Regardless....what do you guys think? Necessary? Or does the site run just fine already and we take the risk by choosing this hobby. As a noob, I'm a bit nervous about trading with people, since I don't really know very many people.

Well, this is what I've seen on other forums, but we can't really decide how the forums themselves are laid out. This thread could be self regulated by the community, and wouldn't rely on the admins to do anything at all.
