First of all, without having a band on the cigar, I, as a noob, had a little trouble figuring out which end to cut and which end to burn.
7.25x55ish, deep brown wrapped figurado. Torched the chubby end after cutting a little off of the full tapered end. It took a little to get it lit but once I did, it kept a nice burn throughout. The shape of the cigar was PERFECT. Easy to hold, just nice!
Immediately I am hit by pepper. After a few draws, the pepper backed off and I am pretty sure you could say that a mild leathery flavor started in. First third and there wasn't much smoke pouring out of it and I needed to make sure that I kept up on the smoke to keep it lit. One inch in and there are hints of coffee. The ash is a bright silver and seems to be solid...no hint of it falling anytime soon.
2/3. The burn has become perfectly even and steady. Pepper has really backed off. This cigar is hitting a lot of notes, I just don't know what they are. 2 full inches in and the ash is still long and proud.
At this point, I have given up on trying to figure this cigar out. I just sat back and continued to smoke. Finally about 3 inches in, the ash gave up and fell on my table. Smoke output has increased dramatically. The background seems peppery but the foreground tastes creamy. Enjoying it immensely.
Alright....I have no idea what the cigar is. With the build of the cigar and the complexity of the flavors I would say that this cigar is the $10+ cigar. Easily a 2 hour burn with lots of enjoyment.
Now Tim let's see if I picked another Gurka!!!!
