hey all, looking for opionions on the Palio cigar cutter. Is it worth the extra bucks for this cutter? They boast about surgical steel and being the sharpest cutting blades around with a life time warranty. Xikar also offers a lifetime warranty but their double blade cutter is much less. Appreciate any kind of feedback. Cigar Searcher

I don't have one but if you'll do a search here, especially since you are the cigar searcher, you'll find a bunch of threads on them. In every thread, you'll hear guys saying that it's the best cutter they've ever had.

Welcome and while you are searching, don't forget to search for The Thonginator. It's a bit of an introduction to the site.

I have had both. Loved them both and the sharpness still seemed to last on the Palio IMO. Xikar stays sharp but not as sharp. Never had to replace either.

Hello and good luck,

Tuck

I recently picked up a palio used after using an xikar for a long time. I prefer the xikar's action. The palio seems well made and cuts fine. I like that the palio is kind of made to be a cigar rest. I would probably vote for the xikar if I had to choose between them.

Palio all day, you won't be disappointed.

If your bidding here, be patient you can get the fairly cheap compared to MSRP.

I'm the opossite of joker. I prefer the action of the Palio. Best cutter I've ever owned, and yes I've had Xikars. My Palio has to have over 1,000 cuts under it's belt and it's still going strong. When it no longer does the job, I just find a Palio dealer, hand him the old one, and he hands me a new one.

Another thing. Drop them both onto concrete. You'll pick the Palio up and keep on going. The Xikar will be in pieces.

With that said, if you smoke a lot of 60 ring gauge, you're better off with the Xikar, as the Palio has a smaller opening.

Personally I prefer the Xikar X8 over the Palio but I prefer the Palio over any of the Xikar butterfly cutters.

Just got my second palio in the mail today. I am forever leaving cutters here and there and can still never find one wherever I may be. (I usually leave one in the car, one in the shooting bag, one in my backpack, one in my golf cart.....you get the picture) Grabbed a second palio because I lost my favorite set of Xikar scissors. Have tried many different ones. Personally like the palio or the scissors equally. Xikar butterfly cutters are about 4th down the list.
