Ready-to-use. A light mist may be all that's needed.

Still spelled wrong, anyhoo they should be ready to go when you get them. Don't pour water on them, they will split and break.

It's short for :

"Humidor Rat Dung Felt Strips" - aka HRatFelt.........are strips of felt which have rat dung droplets glued to them, and are then used to line a humidor to maintain RH......used in various third world countries.......or so I've been told.

I received mine and I poured a teaspoon of water over them and they started hissing and squeaking and visible amount split and cracked., they still work fine, but i agree, DO NOT POUR WATER ON THEM, DO NOT SUBMERGE THEM, DO NOT SHAKE EXCESS WATER OFF THEM, ONLY MIST THEM WITH A SPRAY BOTTLE WHEN THEY APPEAR TO BE TURNING WHITE AGAIN.

IF you submerge them you will basically rinse off the chemical that regulates the humidity,

If you shake excess water off them, you are basically removing a potion of that chemical because the water that you're removing from the beads has absorbed/mixed with the chemical salt and when you Shake it out, your losing alot of the chemical from the beads.

PS people also have success using the small syringe the company sells.

And use distilled water. You're water may have chemicals in it that could ruin the beads. At least that's what I have been told so I only use distilled.

All of the items I've purchased from HF so far have come with directions....

I just use a spray bottle, BTW - but you do have to hydrate them when you get them.
