bid a dollar on an item that is going to sell for close to a hundred bucks. Baffles me, he was the first bidder. I see it alot, just curious.

You can track closing (winning $) ammount to see over time what stuff goes for.

Consider if you bid a minimum amount on everything (except rockets or things you don't like), so you bid on say... 250 lots all at $1, maxxed out on quantities. You would lose the majority of the bids, but you would still win close to a third of the lots, considering you upped the next possible bid to $3 or more, where the item cost vs. value starts to even out, and less people will be interested in the item. You end up getting the best value by being the first to bid.

This example only applies to singles, but there is an amount for 5ers, boxes, etc. that you could determine.

And this doesn't at all take into account human stupidity, determination, overbidders, etc.

First off, if it can be had for a buck I don't want to smoke it. Second ain't know flippin way these smokes are going for a dollar, not singles but a whole box of a good smokes. I guess I can see it if you just wanted crap, but who wants that. Seems like a big waste of time and thats pretty much all I got is time.

Unless you change it. Ever notice someone bidding multiple increments above current price without the aut-bid? 🤦

I'll bid a dollar but with auto-bid still low and hope to catch a lot or two.
