Now we can see why I was getting such a great deal. Looks like they are dropping the brand for Miami Cigar & Company.

The cigars they are going to offer in Viaje's place are:

Nestor Miranda

Casa Miranda

La Sirena

Guillermo Leon

La Aurora

I can personally say I have never had any of these. Anyone care to share what they think about the smokes posted above.

Why not carry both? No room on the shelves? Not enough demand at this shpo for Viaje?

From what I hear Viaje is not easy to work with for some B&M owners. They send you any amount they want and you have to take it. For some retailers its too much inventory.

Not enough demand was what I was told.

The regular line of the Oro I'd be surprised if they sold 2-3 out of the box. Now the Limited Edition/Holiday stuff from what I could always see came in and would be out within a week or two.

I figured this probably could be happening as they have 4-6 boxes left of the Oro line. And it was odd as they got 3-4 boxes of the Oro in and 1 Holiday Blend only.

I like the la sirena.

I too have heard B&Ms complaining about how Viaje treats them.

Viaje Rep goes to shpo...

Rep: Here's your shipment of cigars.

Shpo: But I didn't order this many.

Rep: Not my problem.

Shpo: I don't have room for all of these.

Rep: Not my problem. Here's your bill.

Shpo: I have to pay for cigars I didn't order and will have to sit on?

Rep: Uhhh, yeah, pretty much.

Shpo: It's going to take a while to sell all of these.

Rep: Not my problem. I'll be back in 30 days with your next shipment...unless you need me to come back sooner.

Respect goes to my local owner then. He didn't say anything negative about them just the demand was not there. Which sucks as the demand for the ORO may not be there, but everything else would sell out.

From the B&M I was at that wouldn't quit bitching, they pretty much called you and said this is what they had, do you want it and can you pay for it right now. You either had to take a whole shipment at the drop of a hat or none at all.

That would cause me to stop carrying them as well. I think the Oro line is horrible. Others in my area must agree with me as no one is buying them.

I guess the company's thoughts are; If we force enough **** onto you we will give you a limited edition box. If you pay now we will give you 2 LE boxes.

I really hope this is not how they operate. If so they will be losing a customer.

We have maybe 8-10 real shops in Oregon.

Phone orders are a no-no.

I discussed Viaje with the owners son (Portland shop) he talked to a Rep. The rep wouldn't let him SAMPLE A CIGAR until he commited to a $10k order and that would be monthly......he told him to pound sand. Next time I visited I gave him a couple to "see what he was missing"! He was glad to try em and glad he didn't carry em.

No chit...

Eric said Tatuaje rep was always pushing quota orders but never anything like Viaje and the Tatuaje rep just dangled LE promises. Like I said though, no phone orders so there isn't as much incentive for shops here because they truely have to sit on stuff.

They don't even do in state phone orders.

The two big boy shpos in MI don't carry them, one never did after talking to them, the other canceled after the first order came in. All oro, and platino.

We do do have an authorized dealer who gets almost everything viaje, but you wouldn't pay his prices, the manager is a total D Bag, and its the farthest for me. Fivers online is all ill do.

La Aurora are good smokes. Guillermo Leon (made by La Aurora) and La Sirena (a Pepin stick) are a couple I really enjoy. The Miranda cigars I personally don't care for. BTW, you can get all of these new smokes here for far less then your B&M.

Viaje is way over hyped anyway, all this gimmick LE crap will catch up with them soon. If you make a small enough batch of anything its bound to sell out and create a demand. As soon as you chase a few LE smokes and they turn out to be average at best the shine wears off.
