I was in a little shpo the other day and way back in the corner by itself was a bundle of Vega Talanga Reserva en Tercio. The markings said 1998 production and the clerk said he didn't even know the price so I offered $60 and he said sold. They retailed for about $100 as I remember.
These were a favorite of mine about 10 years ago but they discontinued them about 2004 or so. Some of the FOGs might remember they were very rustic looking, toro sized, with a pigtail cap and uncut foot made in Honduras. Instead of boxes these came bundled in the bark from the royal palm in the old Cuban style that allowed them to breathe and age. Vega Talanga came out with some new blends after these were discontinued but they were terrible cigars.
Tried one today and they still taste as I remembered with a strong cedar, coffee and cream note with plenty of life left.
SCORE! 😎
