My MIL brought me back a coffin with a smoke banded Rafael Fuente from the Island Cigar Factory in Key West, Florida. I had never heard of them and was wondering if any have smoked them. Is Rafael part of the famous Fuente family? Should I age for a bit(I will) or smoke it now? What say ye?

Do a search. They have a web store. Looks like they're rolled in the Dominican Republic. They claim that they are "Cuban Leaf" cigars, whatever that is suppose to mean. I would assume that it has more to do with the rolling style, then where the tobacco comes from.

They are a local type shop down here. They prey upon tourists. I would just thank your MIL and just be happy she was kind enough to get you something. Then I would tuck that baby away for a few years and smoke it in the future. Maybe it will be smokeable by then.

Pictures of their maduros look like they've been painted with black wood stove paint.

Can't be as bad as the 5 Cohibas my MIL brought me. There was loose tobacco all over the bag. The filler was so fine it seems they packed it with Marlboro cigaretes. I didn't even try one. That's Jamaica for you.

Hey Dan did you smoke them yet?My son and DIL brought me a 5'r from there. After researching them they immediately went into the freeze process.Apparently they are stored in a natural state........80+ degrees and 75% humidity, kind of a Key West average.Anyway just wandering if you burned them yet.

Think I'll avoid those when I'm down there unless Dan gives the thumbs up.
