So, I usually pair my cigars with water so I can taste the cigar for what it is, without anything getting in the way. But I had this morning to myself, so I lit up a MFLB Petit Robusto to go with my coffee and I was amazed how much better that cigar was with coffee. I switched to water half way through and it was nowhere near as good. I'll never go back to water with that cigar. Anyone else have a cigar that is just works when paired with something?

I think baitfish and medium coffee go together like peanut butter and women.

baitfish and black tea is nasty though.

I have an extreme caffeine allergy, so coffee, tea, even decaf is off limits. I now drink Rooibos (a smoky, spicy, sweet, red African bush tea) throughout the day, and have noticed that it tends to really bring out the flavors in most cigars. Much better then water, beer or even Scotch. And no, I will not be giving up my cigars and Scotch.

A cigar and coffee can be quite good, but a cigar and bourbon are even better. The bourbon does call for a stronger smoke tho admittedly.

Let me get this straight...you and caffeine are a no go? You poor bastid. On the bright side, you have one more reason to go with scotch.

To make matters worse, I was a home roaster for many a year. Loved custom roasting exotic small batch estate coffees from all over the world. I used to drink 6 to 8 cups of fantastic Joe a day. You folks haven't tasted coffee, until you sample a rare single farm premium that was just roasted to your exact preference hours before.

Kind of like a home brewer, who can no longer enjoy beer. Oh, wait a minute, that's me too. Extreme gluten sensitivity to boot. At least I can have sorghum beer, though it's just not the same. Maybe someday I'll buy some sorghum malt, and see if I can brew something drinkable.

Coffee is my go-to pairing.

Bourbon, brandy, Coke or Dr Pepper are also good.

perhaps 1 or 2 cups a day would be ok,,,

But, 8 cups of coffee would make anyone a bit Jittery,,,

you may be like a heroine addict now. One cup is too many and 8 is not enough,,
