Went to a local shop today and had one of these. I liked it quite a bit. I told the guy that I would categorize it as a strong cigar. He said, ok, but it was between medium and strong. I said.. I thought it was strong. [ram27bat]

The band is a die-cut homogenized leaf, that seamlessly integrates with the blend.

Interesting that there are no more comments on this La Gloria Cubana line.

Any comments on the flavor profile? Aren't these pricey and HTF?
Started out with LGC and still enjoy a few.

I can't really come up with flavor profiles... like nuts and berries and leather and cow manure... ;-)

But, it started out pretty smooth and tasted good. After a couple of minutes I could tell it was getting stronger. I had the feeling that it was a good thing I wasn't smoking it on an empty stomach. I don't get that feeling often.

Maybe it was the tequila... 😰 I had just had Mexican food and a top shelf margarita about 30 minutes prior. And that was a Ziegenbock in the glass in the photo.

So.... Tonight was a go big or go home night!

I started out with a RyJ Reserva Real. Maybe my tastes have changed, considering all the flavorful little short sticks I've had recently, but this one was kinda harsh and uneventful until it got way past the half way point, then it was just like... well... I ain't gonna stop smoking it.

Then I lit up one of these LGCs. Man, that thing was awesome. I was listening to some blues on Pandora Radio and I was really getting in to it. It has a label that can be smoked right through. And, it was down to about an inch when I realized that I had smoked through the label.

After that I lit up a Camacho Corojo Maduro with the new big red label. It took a little while, but then it was almost as awesome as the LGC.

All of these were about 7 inch and 52 or 54 ring... I'd have to go back and try to look them up to get exact sizes...

I have many RyJ Reserva Reals. When they are on, they are on and taste great. Though I've had a few that are just like what you say, harsh and uneventful.

Generally speaking, the LGC's are on the "full" side IMO. Some can be a bit harsh without a year's rest, again IMO. Decent smoke but just outside my wheelhouse. I don't usually buy them. I have not tried the Trunk Show but I imagine I will cross paths with one sooner or later.

+1 on that. I smoked another Reserva Real a couple weeks before that. It tasted and smoked great.
