Scored a box of these a while back and finally tore into a rested stick (I can never help but smoke that slightly unpleasant, right out of the box stick despite grabbing it from my 114F front stoop). I am not going to throw down a full review on this stick because I want to puff a couple more and let them get a little age on them, but good damn! These are some spicy little sticks. It's not like, tongue burning thick, heavy, full flavored smoke...more of a medium, spicy-as-all-hell, creamy smoke.
The wrapper was beautiful, near flawless, with a rock-solid triple cap. The packaging is well...swag. Not only is the box sleek and well made, but the band and individual cigar wraps are sharp. I have noticed a few spongy feet that I am not wholly pleased with, but it has not affected more than maybe a centimeter of any of the cigars I checked out. If anything, it has made my particular style of lighting sticks a bit simpler. I will just torch the foot until it's cherried, punch/cut my cap, give a little blow, and then start a puffin'. I never get bitter lights like this, and that first draw is also pure flavor...kinda like the green hit, for those of you who know what I'm talking about.
Smoke-wise, like I said, spicy. Peppery, red and black, coffee grounds, straight cocoa, and a very pleasant oakey taste and aroma. I had actually given one to a neighbor and got home while he was outside smoking it, and it was heavenly, so I decided to ash one tonight myself.
Like I said, reserving final judgement, because I think with a year on these, they might be amazing, but even now, they definitely have my seal of approval, particularly at their cbid price point.
