So my favorite beer is yuengling lager. What good medium or full body cigar will go well with it? I haven't found a winner yet.

Any ideas?

And what is your favorite beer and stick pair.

I seem to have the same issue. However, it seems easier when you have some nice Bourbon;)

I remember my high school days of smoking backwoods and drinking Texas Pride. Now that was quite a pairing.](*,)

Try a sweeter beer....Newcastle goes well..or .a chocolate stout....one not so " hoppy"....IPA's, I have found are awful witha cigar....the sweeter ones go well....a porter goes well, they seem to have a coffee flavor.....

Lindemans makes a lambic beer called Framboise that is dynamite with a strong maduro....

I drink stout of various sorts frequently with whatever I am smoking. And love it.

German dark beers, love them with a cigar.

I don't drink lighter beers, only dark so am really surprised to see anyone posting that beer doesn't go well with a cigar.

I don't like ipa with anything, I just don't care for the pale stuff.

Try Breckinridge Vanilla Porter and a snifter of Pyrat rum. goes good with any cigar

I agree with the theme above, while Yuengling Lager may be your favorite beer, it is going to have a really hard time pairing with a cigar that you actually want to smoke. As above I stick to sweeter and heavier beers, typically belgian or german and usually over 7% alcohol.

A good option would be a belgian abby ale or white beer, will be a lot closer to a lager in body but will likely be a much better pair with a good cigar. For Northeast local options check out Omegang and Allagash. The Allagash Curieux is phenomenal, they finish the beer if bourbon barrels, but be careful as it is around 11% alcohol.

Good luck and congrats on getting more time with your youngster as well! We're very lucky to have my wife be able to do the same with our 16 mo. daughter.

Yuengling sucks. Might as well drink Iron City. (barf)

Real men don't drink Framboise! That's for the ladies only.

Wheel offers a good suggestion with the Chimays and a Monte. Breckenrighe Vanilla Porter is awesome if you can get it on the East Coast. Left Hand Brewery's Milk Stout is incredibly tasty and dangerous. Try Samuel Smith's (Nut Brown Ale, Taddy Porter, Imperial Stout). Rougue makes a few good beers too. I like pairing them with HdM Dark Sumatra, or a heavy smoke like a CroMagnon, Tat 7th, or a rich chewy oscuro.

For a litter bodied brew try Stella Artois or Pilsner Urquell with a PSD4.
