I really like Alec Bradley as an every day/ twice a day smoke.

Have any of you tried the "seconds" that are advertised as only having small wrapper blemishes?

For the price, it sounds like a really good deal...

Thoughts?

The coronas initially were great (bundle of 15) the current bundle of 10 are ok but you never know what BLEND you're getting. You have to look at the size then guess. Problem being AB is so inconsistent. When on these are a great value.

don't bid on the 6.12"x52 Torpedo. They were like no Alec Bradley cigar I ever smoked, and I have smoked them all many times. They were real scrap. Only the 5.5"x55 and 6"x54 were decent smokes. And stay away from the odd sizes that fit NO A.B. line. Who rolled them and what's in them is anyones guess.

Thank you very much for the words of wisdom! For the price, I'll give them a shot!

Excellent information!

I didn't realize AB sucked, I suppose I'll keep smoking the first's even if they are crappy cigars... the seconds, I'm still kind of on the fence about - shoot, since I like crappy cigars, so I'll probably give them a shot too!!

Me too, Paul. I thought they s*cked OTT, but after about a year, they turned into really nice smokes. After the down time, the ones I had tasted just like the Overtures. Like you, that was several years ago. I still have some Tempus Maduros that I love, but they came from some place in Florida. The ones form here just didn't seem as good. Personally won't be buying anymore AB at all.

Funny cause I just had an AB sungrown from an old sampler from that famous place, probably a good 4 years old and it was great. Think it's a discontinued line though. Don't really get most AB cigars, the dam Presnados are fire proof.

I used to enjoy the Family Blend VR1's until everyone that smoked started having burn issues. Haven't bought one for couple years.

I forgot about those Sungrowns. I think I still have a few left, and yes, they where/are good. I remember bidding on them from my hotel room during CFest '10. My room mates where laughing because here we where at CFest, and I'm bidding on a competitor's site. IIRC, I picked up four 10 pack samplers (5 AB Sungrown, 5 RP Sungrown) for $15 a sampler.

When I get back to Jersey, I'll have to dig one out.

The current special auction is for a "toro 52", but no actual size is quoted. 6x52 is most probable but not guaranteed.

The only 6x52 toro's I know of are the Nica Puro and the Tempus and Tempus maduro.
