So, I saw Mike was looking to trade some MB3's for some Opus X.
I'm not a big MB fan, but I did have a few Opus laying around, so I thought I would contact him and see if he would go for an idea that I had been thinking about for quite some time.
The MEDUSA by Drew Estate, was THE cigar that got me into this crazy world in the first place.
I have admired Mike's art work on the forum for years, and had entertained the thought of contacting him to do a piece for me. I thought the subject matter would be right up his alley.
I proposed this trade:
I would send him the few Opus that I had, along with some hitch hikers, and in return he would do a portrait of the Medusa box for me.
Mike liked the idea and asked me about my preferences . . . what medium, what size, color, etc, etc.
I told him that the only thing I would prefer was that it had some color in it, as the box has purple, green and yellow. All the other criteria I would leave up to him and his art expertise. I figured HE would know better than me which would look best.
I sent him the cigars and told him to assess their value and use that as a barometer as to how much time and effort he wanted to put into the project.
THIS is the result. An 18 x 24 piece of beauty !
Mike . . . Thank you SO MUCH for doing this. I AM ECSTATIC !
