I'll be coming home in a few weeks and I'm tired of smoking the "PX specials". I've been trying to think of what I want to smoke, but I can't decide. My favorite cigar to date is the Ashton VSG followed closely by CAO MX2. Any suggestions?!

Glad to hear you're on the way home safely.

If you liked MX2, you should give Ramon Bueso: Genesis the Project a try.

Welcome Mr. Wick, as you may know everyone has a different perspective on what is good and what is not. I would suggest that you do a proper introduction and then head over to the noob trade thread. Make a few trades, a few friends and a few enemies. Through the process you will acquire a variety of cigars that you can enjoy an find out what you think I good or bad. Also thanks for your service.

Depending on where you have been in Afghanistan...you should have been able to pick up some CCs. At least the last time I was there in Kandahar, the Dutch PX and the French Store had CCs. You had to put them in the humi for a little while to get them back to smokable. Usually they were dry. The Dutch used to carry all of the Cohiba line and some RyJ tubos. The French had a varying assortment of them. It was a hit or miss on what they had. Prices weren't bad but weren't spectacular either.

Welcome home, Mr. Wick. The My Father lines are similar to the Ashton VSG, but for less $.

I picked up a couple Cohiba CCs a while back, but they had the worst draw I ever had. I never went back to see if it was just the two I bought. I'll have to pick up a few before I leave just for the heck of it. I had the RyJ tubo too. Not a bad smoke.

I'll definately try some of the recommended cigars by everyone, thanks for your help!

You definitely had to get them into the humidar for awhile. The ones right out of their "humidor" were fairly dry. Usually the Tubos were good to go.

Have a safe trip home Mr Wick! Im heading home soon too in about a month. The first stick Im gonna burn when I get back will be a La Escepcion Selectos Finos. Cant go wrong with a VSG though, I enjoy the Illusion the best.

You want some recommended smokes, huh? Well Mister what I recommend to you is that you give me your stateside address and your ETA so I can get some over there and have them waiting on you to enjoy.

Yep, that's my recommendation to you from me.

Thank you, I hope your last month goes by fast. It's the last two weeks that drag on. I'll have to check out the Las Escepcion when I get back. Good luck and I hope you have an uneventful time and safe flight back.

Or maybe a few rocks. Being out here takes the saying "go kick rocks" to another level.
