I'm sending out beers for my first trades since I don't have much in the way of cigars, and most of the sticks I have on hand don't seem to be in the highest regard by some of the vets here. (the recipient is aware they're getting beers, not gars btw)

I've got packages taped up, labeled and ready to go out when I have some daylight hours free. Just kinda feeling guilty about some of them with how much $ I've got in the box (and even more considering shipping). I'm expecting an even trade value, but feel guilty putting someone on the hook if that makes sense.

I had two noob-noob trades that I did reduce the value from what I originally planned for this very reason.

Is this a concern with those of you that've done trades? I've only ever traded beer-beer commercial-commercial and homebrew-homebrew and all that was done bottle for bottle, so shipping costs didn't count, price paid usually didn't count (save for some of the exotics like DarkLord and Utopia).

Or am I just being a paranoid noob spending $$$ sending a box of the things I love out to someone I've not met (other than reading a few online posts and brief exchange of contact information) in exchange for something I don't really have much experience with? Or in trading a commodity of rarity, is the purchase price not considered, but the desirablilty of the goods offered on either end the deciding factor?

What say ye vets? What do you expect from your nubcakes? Or is this something we should've discussed before I committed and boxed/labeled the warheads?
