Had the Toro a few nights back and it was very enjoyable. Very rich sweet tobacco with chocolate and bakers spice finish. Enjoyed it so much I bought a box on here shortly afterwards. I didn't notice the signature Pepin pepper blast. I like it better than the Flor de las Antilles.

I agree with above it was better then the flor de las antillas but the couple I have had seem like they need a good bit more time on them. Tasted like there is a lot of notes but they are all combined in one right now. Just remember thinking this would be really good after some rest I bet when I was smoking it. Of course I have not ashed one since they first came out and have 1 left in the humi so maybe I should get to it soon and see what that rest did for it.

I like them both, totally different palates though. I actually like the Antillas as a morning smoke with the Antiquedad being a right smart more full. I'm most of the way through the first ten Antiques and its still evolving and getting better. Went ahead and bought a second box so it could be mellowing.:-)

I agree. To me the Antillas is a solid medium body that I'll smoke anytime, but usually in the morning or early afternoon with coffee. La Antiquedad is a little fuller bodied, more of an afternoon smoke -- rarely my first of the day.

I've got boxes of both in the humidor; it'll be interesting to see how they taste in a couple of years. At the moment I think I prefer the flavor profile of the Antillas, but they're both very good.

FWIW, my best 3-cigar work day last week was 1) a Flor de Las Antillas Toro with coffee after breakfast, 2) a San Cristobal Revelation Triumph before a late lunch, and 3) a My Father No. 5 Toro before dinner. Sort of a Don

Been through 2 fivers of the Toro size so far and probably my favorite DPG "New" stick. Excellent construction/burn, great flavor, definitely stronger than the FDLA as stated above. What I noticed also was that it had to be one of the slowest burning/longest lasting cigars I ever had. Great stick! Watching auctions for a good box price.

Anyone who has had the Toro and the Corona Grande care to compare the two? I'm interested in finding out if the flavors are more intense on the smaller ring gauged Corona.

My comments only apply to the corona grande. I always default to the smaller ring.

I am in the minority. Didn't like the Antiguidad or the Flor de Antilles. Very similar to me.

I had the big ring Antiquidad and I think it is my second favorite smoke. My favorite to date is the La Flor Dom double lira, but the Antiqidad seems easier to get.

Only had one Antilles from a liqueur store big cabinet humi (i know, i know...) It was very good. Outstanding draw and very flavorful especially in the second half. Was NOT worth the $11 paid for it however! My notes on it say "prefer Aging Room"

These are very similar to a LAdC Mi Amor. Densely packed. Good draw. Nice burn. I'm halfway through a box of toros.
