About 10 years ago or so, our good bud MACS came back from Iraq, and just happened to be connecting through Atlanta on his way home to his family. I got the good fortune of meeting Mr. MACS and talked to the ground crew meeting his inbound, to ensure his bags made the connecting flight. It's a meeting I'll never forget, especially when MACS asked the guy sitting next to us what kind of cigar he was smoking ... LoL ... a candela, if I remember . . . LoL

Anyway, Buckwheat shortly thereafter sent me a package of thanks, great ISOM's and a few ISOM cigarettes, too.

Well, this one I have been holding onto ever since. I believe conferring with Andy, that it was a pre-1986 RyJ ...

Not really sure, but I knew it was old. So, Bbuckwheat ... any idea how old that RyJ you sent me was?

Because I've told myself for at least 8 years, that I'd smoke it on my wedding night, and lo & behold that night was last night. I almost let it slip my mind. The thought hit me at 12:30am ... Being a night owl, I didn't let it bother me too much, and I went and got the cigar.

Damn, I almost didn't want to torch it. Geez. I've held onto that stick for so damn long, and really didn't know how good of care I took of it. I really expected it to be bone dry.

Well, imagine my surprise. Holy Cow. That was the best damn cigar I've *EVER* smoked in my entire life.

Oh Lord Above, Wow was it good. I mean so delicious that I just can't describe.

Now mind you, I haven't smoked a cigar in over a year. I haven't bought any cigars in so long I can't remember.

I know the folks at C-Bid can attest, I at one point had over 900 cigars. I bet I gave at least 1/2 of them away.

Mainly to all my close friends, the old g/f of 10 years ago, well, her Dad got the lion's share. Limited retired income he had, and I know he was grateful for every stick. I was glad to help the old codger out.

But this one cigar. This one beautiful cigar, I've held on to for almost 10 years.

And it was beautiful.

So good, even the new Mrs. enjoyed a few puffs.

I have a few sticks aged a few years, but nothing that comes close to that amount of age - glad you took care of the stick for that long - it seems to have paid off.

If it was in cello then it was one of the early '80's RyJ Coronas (Claro). If it was in a tube it was one of the pre-1985 Churchills. Both outstanding cigars. 🌫

I'll be 52 in 3 weeks, she's 47, we're both married, no kids, and just decided to do it. No real planning to the wedding, just wanted to get it done & keep moving fwd.
Walked in the courthouse, and walked out 45 mins later a married man. I've already cut back on shooting burlesque this past year. As much as I love it,
it's kinda getting on my nerves. At least Hall of Fame in Vegas is ... As much as I love the shows and I have a lot of friends in the scene as a whole, there's just too much debauchery. I'm planning on going to the New Orleans festival in September. My buddy that runs that festival, and his monthly shows at the House of Blues are a *lot* classier than Hall of Fame in Vegas. So for now, who knows. I've stepped back from that for a while. I'll toot my own horn and say the photos that came from Vegas this year sucked . . . LoL ... I hate to admit it, well, maybe not, but I've been through hundreds of women looking for her. She's a great gal. We're best friends. Just the best I could ever have hoped for. Sang professionally for 20 years. Hell of a voice.
I'm happy. And by the way fellas, I am out of cigars on purpose . . . LoL
