I was just sitting around last night and decided to run a few cigars through my taste test. So I started with a P.H.J. From Tobacos el Triunfador and finished with a Cusano CC fake of the Cohiba.

The PHJ was well bleh! It started boring, and remained that way the whole way through with slight overtones of some strange chemical plant odor, but only slightly. I scored it a solid 4 out of 10. Not a big winner here, and I have no taste.

Surprisingly the CI Cusano CC Cohiba fake was actually acceptable. It was mild to mild, and did not induce the comatose effect of the boredom of the PHJ. It actually was not a half bad. I scored it 8 out of 10. Surprising to say the least. It is a solid buy rating for something else to toss at the crew, and chew on while fighting a Tuna.

Both gars would have gone good paired with a bottle of Mad dog 2020 or ripple, possibly a vintage Boones Farm Strawberry hill, because they were so mild that anything with flavor would have overshadowed them.

As a infrequent smoker of higher quality cigars, I was most impressed that the Cuisano lived up to the hype, and it almost made me pull my last Real Cohiba from that forgotten island out and do a head to head between these to see just how close it comes to the real thing.

I am afraid to waste the real Cohiba on my untrained palate. I thought I would let it rest till I really deserved it, and could appreciate it more. Truth be told, I am kinda saving it for a possible trade for a Fuente God of fire, or a Monte Cristo 2 cc. It has been resting since 2008.

I am not a financially endowed person, so my regular fare is probably yard gars to you guys. The best part is I have a list of who sent what from you guys and try different things on occasion. You are the best BOTL's on the Planet and I always enjoy what you drop on my porch.
