Had one of these a year back or so - the ones wrapped in tissue paper and stuffed into the black sleeve... as I recalled I really enjoyed it...

well last week I went to a shop that had a brand new box of namakubi ecuadors... I was pretty excited to grab one and light it up... it was pretty much terrible...

maybe not terrible, but not good... no strength - zero strength - until the final third... it reminded me of those awful 1844's I used to smoke... tasted like pencil lead...

I guess my tastes have changed...

Haven't had the namakubi but the 1844 are good especially after a year they taste like chocolate bars to me.

Opel...what vitola was it? I've enjoyed the pc size. Haven't had any of the others.

I think it was the robusto size... not sure what they call it...

Possible dud? I've had a couple in the PC size. Very flavorful and delicious to me. Spicy, sweet and smooth. I enjoyed it very much

Haven't had the namakubi but the 1844 are good especially after a year they taste like chocolate bars to me.

Pencil lead is better in the lancero size.

right on... I will admit I probably went through 100 of those little ones in my first year of smoking and really liked them back then...

but once I started tasting that pencil flavor I could never smoke one without thinking about that and it just ruined it for me...

now that I think of it, I'm pretty sure it was Pro who pointed out that pencil lead flavor in them and made me realize that's what I was tasting... it's his fault I can't smoke those anymore...

by the way, the comment above about them being one dimensional was spot on........a mediocre dimension......I was unimpressed by them as a n00b......and now, as a noob, would not consider buying them at their typical price point.........too many other cigars in that price zone that are WAAAAY better

I really like the Namikubi Darumas in the Roxxo and Papi Chulo sizes. The other blends and sizes not so much.
