He isn't very good at telling lies and he looks like a drinker, but I don't really care. I think Rice is despicable and I suppose you could argue a wife beater gives the NFL a bad image, (Really?) but would you like your employer to look into your private life? Do you want employers to be the moral authority in society?

I don't think Goodell will lose his job. Maybe some sort of punishment like forfeit his salary for a year or something along those lines but I don't believe he will be fired. Also the voicemail that has now popped up I have a hard time believing is legitimate. For starters why are none of the parties related to the voicemail willing to release their names? Secondly who keeps voicemails for months after they listen to them or even months after what the voicemail was pertinent to is handled. Feels like a cover up on their end to me also and if so it is bad for NJ considering the battle that law enforcement is having with the governor, and the down fall of A.C.

He needs to go.

When he interjected himself and his Office into the matters on the field he became disposable to me.

Now this?

I'm sorry, but when you watch that video...the one with the slow motion...and find out the NFL had the tape back in April?

Get Goodell out of there NOW!

If the league office has had a copy of the video since April I cannot imagine any scenario other than his termination.

Oooooo... the NFL is appointing former FBI director Robert Mueller to investigate and the investigation will be overseen by NFL owners John Mara of Giants and Art Rooney of Steelers.

Little bit more on Robert Mueller

@darrenrovell: Robert Mueller works for WilmerHale, which has represented the NFL in its Sunday Ticket deal w/DirecTV.

@darrenrovell: The #2 lawyer at the NFL, Jay Bauman, took the job at the NFL after leaving WilmerHale, which will now investigate the league.

So this will be investigated by some dude that works at a law firm that has previously represented the NFL and the investigation will be overseen by two NFL owners.

Yeah, got it.

Like I always tell my kids: Make sure you define your moral compass according to what professional sporting leagues do.

Goodell made a mistake in judgement, but people are jumping on him as if he's the wife beater.

Perspective, people.

And a little less media driven frenzy.

A couple of white Basketball team owners make a few racially subjective comments in private and they are forced to sell their ownership.

A black football player beats his wife unconscious and it's business as usual - until the videotape is released.

Now you want Goodell's head on the chopping block???

What about the Coach and Owner of the Ravens? Do they get a free pass? Where's their "accountability"?

They let Michael Vic back in the league. They will let Rice back in too. It's good for the economy.

Sad thing is this will be discussed all during tonight's, as much as the game itself.
