Since I'm sure the TSA knows what Habana on a cigar label means, I'm guessing taking a few for the long drive back this weekend prolly isn't a good idea. But, is there any other issues with traveling with cigar in carry on luggage that I need to be aware of?

Don't worry about it. TSA doesn't care about Cuban cigars. That's CBP's problem.

I'm certain I'll be given extra scrutiny since I'm traveling on a one-way ticket. I just don't want any hassles.

I've carried cigars (20+) in my carry on and other than the x-ray machine, no other inspection. Worst case scenario...you tell them you've had the cigars since BEFORE the embargo...anything already in-country before Kennedy signed the Executive Order is okay...and besides, how are they gonna prove that you didn't have them since 1962?
