We should never forget that day 73 years ago and the troops that gave their lives.

I had an uncle who was at Pearl Harbor. He was manning a ridge top machine gun post that was out of range from the incoming aircraft. He sat there & watched the whole thing.

Incidentally, my mom's Dad who was in the Navy during WW2, today is the anniversary of his death. He passed away in 1997. He was a great man.

Also, never forget is that on Dec. 8th the Japanese invaded the Phillapines with the battles for Corrigedor & Bataan. Shortly thereafter Gen. MacArthur gave his cowardly "I shall return" speech, and abandoned my Uncle Herbert & his fellow soldiers to doom.

Never Forget.

I had a great uncle that was a survivor of the attack. He was on a support ship and was a sleep when the attack started. His ship was hit but he and many more survived. He served through the remainder of the war with most of his time in the Pacific Theater. He served into the sixties and retired with 20 plus years service.

What was really odd was that when he passed in the early nineties, he passed on Dec 5, and was buried on Dec 7.
