The other day I mentioned that Naturals by Drew Estate had me wondering if it really was for deserve. Last night I had the main course... a Spectre. I spent 4 years in OKC and 3 just outside KC (Leavenworth) and became very used to BBQ. The Spectre taste just like those BBQ meats. And it wasn't just the tip. The whole cigar is like that. Very heavy infused and you will be thinking you are eating a side of ribs instead of smoking.
Again, it wasn't bad, but not something I would smoke on a regular basis. Actually, I think it could be interesting to actually be working the grill and having one of these. And when you are done have a Natural for dessert...not. Too much.

If every potential brand new cigar smoker was offered a Spectre as an introductory smoke........there wouldn't be many new cigar smokers. That potential newcomer would stare at the dummy who gave it to them as if they were a confused puppy who had just been kicked. To each his own. This one is on my short (but growing) list of NEVER buy again.

Having never smoked a Spectre, I cannot pass judgment on it. I can comment on Drew Estate in general however. Every one of their cigars I have tried are either overpriced, over-infused or impossible to smoke. Some of their cigars have all three "qualities." And, if it is an AJ Fernandez Cigar (I am too lazy to look it up) the foregoing doesn't apply anyway.

Spectre is made by AJ Fernandez. Its not infused. What you're tasting is the pipe tobacco that is included with the blend. Latakia has a very smokey aroma and taste so its not surprising that you would be reminded of a barbeque. But its not infused - that's a characteristic of that particular tobacco.

Never cared for Lat in a pipe and also do not recall a BBQ flavor. Maybe AJ adds some special sauce ?
