AL.com - Brides and grooms usually plan their wedding down to the smallest detail. What a couple getting married in Hawaii recently probably didn't plan on was a presidential golf trip forcing them to move their nuptials.

Edward Mallue Jr. and Natalie Heimel - both Army captains - were set to get married Sunday at Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course, Bloomberg reports. The military golf course is near the Kailua home rented by the Obama's for their family vacation.

On Saturday, the couple was told they'd have to move their wedding away from the 16th hole because the president and a group of friends would be playing golf. The couple was aware the president was in town, having earlier sent him a letter inviting him to the ceremony. He declined, but did send his congratulations.

It wasn't until later they learned they would be moving their ceremony because of the president's visit.

The White House said Obama wasn't aware of the incident and later called the bride to apologize and offer congratulations, the report notes.

The couple, who are stationed in Hawaii, ended up getting married on the lawn near the home of the base's commanding officer.

I read somewhere about this story that there was a disclaimer in the contract, probably because it was on a military base, that they had the right to cancel due to certain events.

I also read where the bride was giddy that Obama called her to apologize for playing through

Regardless, a better man would *not* have disrupted a couples "special day", just because of a damn game.

He's a ******.

...but it says in the article that he didn't know. Do you expect your "better man" to be psychic too?

So, how exactly is the POTUS a "******" because he wasn't made aware of the situation?

Sounds like some low-level staffer or whomever gets the letters and schedules the games is the problem.

BTW, I just few American Airlines to central America. They lost my luggage at DFW. But you're an azzhole and it's all your fault even though you work for a different company at a different airport.

You're a ****** and you owe me $50US/day x 2 days stipend for lost luggage, wanker.

Probably likely the golf course didn't even tell his people about the schedule conflict. I suspect there is a certain amount of prestige to having the president play at your course (regardless of what you think of him)... Why put that at risk by telling him he'd be bumping a wedding?

Very possible. But don't care - point is the same, he didn't know nor did he make the decision to preempt the wedding.

Plenty of legitimate **** (no different than any other POTUS really) out there to hate him for if that's someone's angle. This is just bush league bs from the tard gallery.

TG, was your luggage actually lost, or just "delayed"?

When you purchase a ticket, you're entering into a contract with your carrier, and the carrier is obligated to return your luggage to you ... within 24 hours.

Ok, maybe he's not a "******", but he certainly *is* a selfish ****** to ruin someone's wedding, all because of a game he wants to play.

But, as I said before, the bride was giddy, so she's happy with it. Go figure, shes a Captain in the US military.

Prolly a Democrat, at that. 😟

By the way, I don't get blamed for delayed luggage, but I do get blamed for the weather . . . Go Figure.

Delayed, and it's still your goddamn fault even though you work for Delta. It took AA 40 hours to get it to me.

The weather sucked too, so that's on you too Barackblasted.

LOL.

Get what? The president made a happy couple change months of planning for their wedding day, because he wanted to play a game.

Regardless, I've been sick for three days & havent slept well & I feel like crap, so please pardon if I miss any detail of your lack of outrage.

I really could care less. It just goes to show what a selfish person he is. It's a wedding day, not the ladies bridge club. A better man would have rescheduled the game he wanted to play.

But, he is well documented for cancellung people's plans, all because he wanted to play a game.
