pre embargo cigars not in that auction, seen this auction before a joke a really bring our money joke..nothing there you couldn't buy out of Mexico for years.

IT's been a Cuban Cigar fire sale since O Bama said he wanted to open trade and end the embargo. I guess people want to cash out before the bottom falls out of the market.

Have had many Clear Havanas from the 1950's and it's a mixed bag there. The ones properly stored were as good or better than current production but some were totally flat indicating storage issues.

Have also had many from the 1980's and 1990's and the best were better than current production for my tastes but others were on the downhill side of life. Most changed their blends during the mid-90's to a milder profile to meet current customer's tastes preferences.

If you ever get a chance to taste a early 1990's Bolivar Gold Medal vs the new blend that is a good example of the changes.

I like the current Boli pc but tasting one from the 90s I am afraid won't happen here. Honestly they probably go for more then I am willing to spend on a cigar and on top of that they are rare. Even on olh I barely see anything go up that's older then 2006 for the most part.

My point is that the older blends were much bolder and took longer aging to shine and some have lasted for 40-50 years if properly cared for while the newer blends smoke well with much less age but most likely will not age nearly as well.
