But beware, Charlie sold the company to General Cigars so a change is gonna come. Buy all the old ones 'cause they're not gonna be the same later on.

Just read about the Torano dealings, bummer.

I only have a handful of Toranos, guess it's better I wasn't hard core into them. I do like the ones I got though.

When first getting started I tried and enjoyed a few of their cigars, my favorite was probably the Exodus 59 and then the Fifty Year when that one was released....haven't smoked one in quite some time however so no idea how they rate any longer.

That's what I got is a box of 50 year, and a few stragglers (don't remember what they are and too lazy to dig).

I do like the 50 years though 🙂

I don't remember what I sent, but it was very likely the exodus 59.

Torano, and Cusano, (and a few others) are cigars I gave up on quickly.
Years ago, they were on my "try" list at the same time that I discovered several good cigars, in the same price range, that I enjoyed MUCH more. Torano/Cusano/et al weren't "bad"...............just somewhat boring to me.
Never revisited..................probably never will.

I haven't smoked ant Toranos lately. They (as I remember) were mostly mild/med - med bodied smokes. Good flavor and construction. I'd recommend them to B/SotLs who prefer milder cigars. I've moved on to stronger, full bodied cigars, LFD, Oliva, etc.

You do realize that all General cigar bought was basically the name, right? Torano sold their factories back in 2008 and went to a contracted production model and that's when their cigars went downhill. Production isn't supposed to change, but if does, I can't see how General Cigar will do anything but improve it by moving away from the contracts and into a new factory under control of the company.

I think I still have a few laying around, but was never impressed by any torano.…

I've tried these so far (at least one was recommended by another BOTL):

Carlos Torano Colosseum toro
Carlos Torano Exodus “50” years robusto
Carlos Torano Fortress robusto
Carlos Torano Fortress Double robusto
Carlos Torano Loyal robusto
Carlos Torano 1959 Exodus Gold robusto
Carlos Torano Vault robusto
Carlos Torano Virtuoso Encore

and have this in stock and yet to try:

Carlos Torano 1916 Cameroon robusto

and I agree with the King that they are not bad, just not good enough to want to smoke more of them.

I still wonder why they are listed as both Carlos Torano.... and Torano.... on CBID. Seems like they could just pick one- unless there's a reason ?

I actually thought decent, very mild ,but definitely would try again. It did not turn me green like Lfd canela
