My bugatti...and other punch...seem to keep f ing up caps....I assume I could sharpen with say chainsaw file?

Cigars seem fine...No cracking not dry etc.....Rh fine64

Why don't you just use a normal cutter? Every time I've used a punch they seem the loosen up the cap. But my 10 dollar cutter has never given me any problems.

Honestly I used to hate em till I got lighter, just very convenient as well as keeps my sweets"naturals, tabaks"in better shape...The flavors on cap I like....easiest way to explain....Do use cutters on some sticks

Do you moisten the cigar head before punching ? If so, then why not try sharpening, but perhaps stones would be better.

Never herd o' that.

But I've started to like punch cutters, I have. I like that a punch cuts parallel to the filler and perpendicular to the cap, which seem the right way, unlike the guillotine.

Sharpen from inside the ring with a razor blade. Like your sharpening a dugout bat.
Don't mess with the outside edge unless you have to.

Try a "v" cutter. It will leave the majority of the cap on. I switch up between a regular cutter and the v cutter.
