Klipsch makes good speakers.

I'm gonna have me some Bowers & Wilkins when I'm ready to upgrade the system. I still have my old Pioneer receiver and Bose 601's, but I almost never listen to it. I have an iPhone with all my music on it and B&W P5 headphones.

I actually have to look at downgrading pretty soon. Right now I'm running a 15 SSA DCON on 1000 watts. It's pretty fun, except for my rearview mirror falling off because of it!

Klipsch makes excellent speakers. I have a pair of his Cornwall speakers driven with a 400 watt Haffler amplifier.

I met Mr. Klipsch in Houston about twenty five years ago.

Gene, I am right there with you. I too have a pair of Cornwalls. Mine are from the early 1980's. They have got to be the best speakers. I have a great story of how I purchased them. Short story, auction sale for $80 total. There are not in mint condition but are in pretty good condition for a 35 year old set of speakers.

I picked up a pair of Bowers and Wilkins 683's for my "serious listening" system in my man cave. 1600 for the pair. They are worth every penny and then some more.

Hahaha

Running my original Pioneer 727 with two sets of baby Advents.

It rocks way well enough.

I did have a SAE amp and preamp/tuner set up, Thorens turntable, Jazen electrostatic speakers (70's) but I sold them to one of my roommates. Worked at Team Electronics college summers. Two stereos where too much.

Ah the days of Hi-Fi.

What a deal! I also bought my Cornwall speakers back in the eighties at a store called Home Entertainment in Houston, Texas. They were new and built with unfinished birch plywood. I veneered the exposed edges and put two strips of cherry wood over the top ends of the side panels. Then I stained and covered them in polyurethane varnish. I did buy my Haffler amp and preamp used when another customer just had to upgrade.

Traded my b&ws for a pair of energys back when they were great (before klipsch bought and ruined them). The old denon drivin them works just fine but I'd like something different.

I also used to have a small pair of Advents. For the size, bookshelf, they had great sound.
