Have been hearing more about a vacation rental site called Airbnb (Air Bed & Breakfast)

Regular, normal people renting out rooms, bungalows, homes to people on vacation. Pricing varies, but generally much less expensive than hotels and with a homier feeling.

Have you any experience on either renting out, or renting your space?

VRBO is another good site. I have not ever used it although when I've sent inquiries to owners they have responded in timely manners.

We have used AirB&B for many of our vacations in the past few years. All have been great places with private rooms in homes or studios built on the properties with all having access to a balcony or patio for smoking a cigar. Much better than renting a hotel room IMO and the rates are usually much better as well.

We've used both, domestically & overseas, always with good results. Be sure to read the reviews, & make sure they're recent.

Have used VRBO a few times for week long stays. Been very happy with it. We like to be able to cook instead of always eating out. Booked this July with them for a week in coeur d'Alene, ID..
